CATHY BELIEVES IT'S NEVER TOO LATE!
After a dream career in magazine publishing, where she was at the top of the mastheads of magazines such as McCall’s, Seventeen, Country Living, Rosie, and many others, Cathy Cavender decided to return to singing and acting, earlier loves her busy career didn’t allow for. Flash forward six years later and so much has happened!
Cathy has been cast in musicals in Connecticut and NYC, acted in dramas off-off Broadway, sung in cabaret showcases all over NYC, and appeared in dozens of film projects (often playing “Mom”).
Favorite roles include Nana in Tuck Everlasting at the White Plains Performing Arts Center's Stage Two, and Ma Strong in Urinetown with the Village Light Opera Group. She also sings with Different Drum, a Linda Ronstadt tribute band.
Cathy has studied at HB Studios, Actors Connection, T. Schreiber Studios, and Bova Actors Workshop. Currently, her wonderful teachers are Andrea Green (voice), Mary Workman (acting and voice over) and Kimberly Vaughn (musical theater).
Cathy lives in Connecticut with her husband and her cat Bibi Tanga. She gardens, plays tennis, practices yoga, cooks and travels as much as possible when she’s not in class, on stage or on set.
